STATEMENT OF FAITH

The statement of faith defines who we are and what we are all about. This church accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient of faith and practice: and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts the statement of fundamental truth of the IMANI RESTORATION CENTER CHURCH:

1. THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED

The scripture, both the Old and the New Testaments, are inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the dependable, authoritative rule of faith and conduct
(2 Tim 3: 14-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).

2. THE ONE TRUE GOD

We believe in the one true God who revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM” the creator of heaven and earth and the redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as the embodying principles of relationship and association as Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. Deut. 6:4; Isa. 43: 10, Matt. 28:19; Luke 3:22)

3. THE DIVINE BEING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. We also believe as the scriptures declares in: His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35) His sinless life (Hebrew 7:26; 1Peter 2:22) His miracles (Acts 2: 22; 10:38) His substitutionary work on the cross (1st cor.15:3 ; 2Corinthians .5:21) His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke. 24:39; 1Corinthians 15:4) His exaltation to the right hand of God ( Acts 1:9, 11;2:33;Philipians. 2:9-11; Hebrews1-3)

4. THE FALL OF MAN

We believe that man was created upright; for God said: “Let us make man in our image, in our own likeness and let them rule of the fish of the sea and the bird of the air; However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is the separation from God (Genesis 1:26; 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

THE SALVATION OF MAN: Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God! “A CONDITION TO SALVATION”: Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by Grace through faith, Man became the heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 25:47 John 3:3 Romans 10:13-15 Ephesians. 2:8
Titus 2:11,3:5-7).

THE EVIDENCE OF SALVATION: The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16).The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and pure holiness (Ephesians 4:20 - 25; Titus 2:12)

5. THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH

BAPTISM IN WATER: The ordinance of the baptism by immersion is commended in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be Baptist. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Mark16:16; Acts10:47 Romans6:4).

HOLY COMMUNION: The Lord’s Supper, Consisting of the elements – bread and fruit of the vine – is the symbol expensing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of His suffering and death (1Corinthians 11:26). And a prophecy of His second coming (1Corinthians 11: 26) and is enjoined on all believers; till He comes;

6. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST

All believers are entitled to and should passionately expect and sincerely seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:25-27) This was the normal experience of all the early Christians church. With it comes the clothing with power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts. 14:18: 1Corinthians12:1-31). This experience is distinct from and subsequent to experience of the new birth Acts.8:12 –17; 10:44-46 11-14- 16 15:7-9) With the baptism in the Holy Ghost come such experience as an overflowing fullness of the spirit (John 7:37-49; Acts. 4:8), a deepened reverence for God (Act 2:43; Heb. 12:38),  an intensified consecration to God and dedication to his work (Acts 2:42) and more active love for Christ, for His Word and for the lost (Mark 16:20)

7. SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is an act of the separation from that which was evil and of dedication unto God (Romans 12:1-2; 1Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews13:12). The scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews12:14). By the power of the holy spirit we are able to obey the command; “Be ye holy, for I am holy” (1Peter 1:14-16) Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by faith reckoning daily upon the fact of the union, and by offering every talent continually to the dominion of the holy spirit (Romans 6:1-14, 17; 6:1; 2:13; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 2:12, 13; 1 Peter 1:15).

8. THE CHURCH AND HER MISSION

The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, Born of the spirit is an integral part of the church of God, which is written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22:23 Hebrews 12:23) Since God purpose concerning man is to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10), to be worshiped by man (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14), and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son Jesus Christ, then we as a body of believers (IMANI RESTORATION CENTER CHURCH) called by the Lord Jesus Christ the son of the most high God and joined together by our faith in Him exist;

a)         To be agency of God for evangelizing the world (Act 1:18; Matthew 28:19)

b)         To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1Corinthians 12:13)

c)         To be a channel of God’s purpose to build the body of saints being prepared in the image of His Son (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1Corinthians 12:18; 14:12)

d)         To minister to the needs of the saints (both physical and spiritual) as the Lord’s grace will enable us.

e)         To support and stand with each other at all times (times of joy and sadness)

f)         To support missions here in the United States, Africa and other parts of the world as the Lord will direct us.

How do we do these things?

1]         By committing ourselves, as individuals and as a corporate body of believers to regularly attend the services and other church meetings (Hebrews 10:25).

2]         By committing ourselves to personal and corporate prayers as a way of continually communicating with God (1Thessalonians 5:16-24)

3]         By committing ourselves to giving to the work of God in the church (IMANI RESTORATION CENTER CHURCH).

4]         By being good ambassadors of the church by the way we live and relate with others. That is, living a life that portray Christ among those we encounter in our day-to-day life (Philippians 1:27-30).

5]         By putting aside all forms of sins and focusing on Christ and striving to live a Holy life by the grace of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
