IMANI RESTORATION CENTER CHURCH
Restoring Godliness through God's Word and Holy Living
Imani Youth Ministry
Imani Youth Ministry responds to the needs of young people, nurturing their faith in Jesus Christ and drawing them into responsible participation in the life, mission and ministry of the Imani Restoration Center Church. In the youth ministry, we are reaching out to young people to embrace their gifts and to walk with them in their process of becoming all they can be and helping them maximize their God given potentials. We believe that God is raising a generation of young people who will rise up and take their rightful place in the world, bringing about a revolution that will see the kingdom of God established in our generation. Imani Youth Ministry core mission is to prepare and equip the youth to realize their full potential.
It is the goal of Imani Youth Ministry to help both the nuclear family and extended families develop a spiritual foundation that equips everyone in the families to live out the Christian lifestyle. Our vision for the Youth Ministry is to develop a community of young people who are experiencing the joy of a relationship with God, who recognize God's purpose for their lives, and who seek to know God more. It is our desire to see our young people witness Jesus Christ to others while at the same time building healthy friendships and experiencing meaningful fellowship. It is our desire for our Youth Ministry to enhance what parents are doing at home, building young people that are fully committed to Christ. We will provide regular evaluation to ensure that our primary focus is achieved.
Though in today’s culture youth ministries focus more on entertainment and fan, at Imani Youth Ministry we focus on the presentation of strong, biblical truth and application. Our mission is to make our youth disciples of Jesus Christ. In order to accomplish this goal there are five areas that we will continually emphasize:
Soul-winning: Conforming to the image of Christ should be the goal of every Christian. The compassion and zeal Christ had for the lost is an example that will not only be preached, but also practiced by our youth ministry. Psalm 119:9 says, “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word”
Missions: Our primary focus is to make disciples. We will provide the necessary resources for our youth to “Go” into the world and teach others. We believe that youth missions are a critical component of our goal to develop our youth into reflections of Christ who will transform their homes, their schools, their churches, their workplaces, and their worlds for Christ. Matthew 28; 19 – 20 says “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Prayers & Worship: Prayer and Worship are a vital part of our plan to help each youth develop his/her own personal relationship with Jesus, by meeting on a regular basis to pray, worship, talk to each other, sharing and encouraging one another. 3 John 4 says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth”
Surrender: The youth will be taught that dedicating one’s life to God and letting Christ control every aspect of their life is essential for finding God’s will for their life. Because Christ so willingly gave His life for us, how much more should we desire to present our bodies a living sacrifice for Him? Psalm 71:5 says, “For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.”
Servant-hood: If the youth have the right view of themselves as servants, then they are going to start reaching and affecting other people’s lives. Imani Youth Ministry gives our young people many opportunities to serve in the church as well as the community.
1 John 3:18 says, “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but indeed and in truth"
In the church we engage our young people in every aspect of our services including being part of the church praise and worship team. We also have set aside one Sunday every quarter as Youth Sunday where our young people conduct the main worship service in its entirety. They also participate in our Sunday school (Bible Study). 2Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
David was a young boy when God used him to defeat the giant Goliath. When no other man would stand against the Philistine, God chose to use a young man to honor His name and defend the nation of Israel. In I Samuel 17:29, David says “is there not a cause” to live and honor the Lord with my life. David realized that even though he was “but a youth,” God could use anyone if fully surrendered to Him. David was willing to honor God with his life regardless of the outcome or circumstances. The goal and prayer of Imani Restoration Center Church is that God will raise up a ministry of young people that will exercise the kind of faith David displayed against Goliath and that God will produce Christ-like youths that are Warriors of Christ fully surrendered to Him.
As a ministry we appreciate you trusting us with your children so that we can partner with you in shaping their lives to conform to the Lord Jesus Christ.
